Winslow Picture Company
Hi! I'm Graham and I'm so happy you stopped by. Let me introduce myself.
I'm a father to a brilliant daughter and husband to an incredible wife. They teach me what joy is. I love New England. For those who grew up here, the way Vermont melts into New Hampshire and then to Maine is like our own secret magic. I'm the type of person who freaks out a little if I go too long without being in the woods. I am also a hopeless road trip addict. I regularly have to fight urges to jump in the car and drive to California or Newfoundland with my cameras and a couple gallons of Red Bull. I play music way too loud and I dance in front of my cat like an idiot. I love my job. I constantly meet new and wonderful people who invite me into extraordinary moments of their lives. My work is my legacy and I'm privileged to be able to leave one about something as important as new families. Really, I'm just a regular guy lucky enough to make people happy for a living. I pretty much struck gold.
I describe my photography as simple images with an iconic feel. I like an interplay between elegance and bold styling in my pictures. I use layered compositions while looking for unexpected moments. My best work comes from place, time and personalities coming together in the frame. Working with those three elements, letting them all work to tell a story, is the guiding principle of my aesthetic.
Wedding photography in New England throws a lot at a photographer; Every weather condition, every season, every kind of light, mountains, fields, forests, lakes and oceans, city streets, tents, ballrooms and I could go on and on. Being flexible and embracing that variety as opportunities is how I've found creative success. My basic theory for approaching all these different subjects is to shoot and edit towards the strength of the scene. If it's a bright and beautiful sunny day, make the photos look like that. If it's cloudy or rainy, use the natural elements of the scene to make the photo rich and dramatic. I think this gives my work an integrity by staying true to the unique aspects of every shoot, while keeping my style elevated and beautiful.
With that said, I think my process on the ground is just as important as my aesthetic instincts. It's extremely important for a photographer to respect a wedding as a wedding and not just a photo shoot. Knowing when and how to pull back and blend in and then when to get more hands-on, all while facilitating the flow of the wedding day, is the key ingredient that makes a wedding photographer good at their job. I have to know how a wedding works so I can make sure, to the best of my ability, that my client enjoys the day as much as they deserve while also producing the level of work that they've trusted me to provide. Knowing how to plan and be involved in the pre-wedding process is a huge part of this concept and something I fully embrace. This is where I bring my decade of experience, earned by shooting hundreds of weddings, to the benefit of my clients. This kind of knowledge and expertise only comes with experience, and it's what makes my work possible.
I'm pleased to offer full-day coverage packages starting at $3600. Please inquire for more information.
"Graham photographed our wedding and he captured the day absolutely perfectly. he really listened to what sort of style we wanted for photos, lots of candid and 'unposed' pictures, while also capturing the more traditional pictures - keeping our parents happy! He was extremely professional and his work is truly gorgeous. It's possible I'm biased, but I think our wedding photos are the most fun, interesting and beautiful I have seen."
"Doesn't get any better folks - Graham is as talented as they come, reliable, friendly and reasonably priced. I couldn't believe how many truly amazing photographs I had to choose from. All of the photos were wonderfully composed and captured so much emotion and beauty from our special day."
"Graham photographed our wedding on a gorgeous summer day, as well as our engagement session. Graham's professionalism, passion, and authenticity made working with him relaxed, fun and a true pleasure! He was both attentive and responsive as we planned for the big day. As a bride, it was so reassuring to work with such a creative and dedicated person. Simply put, Graham is incredibly talented! Each individual photograph was amazing and most importantly, told our story. I can't count the number of compliments we have received over time. If you're looking for a photographer who genuinely cares about his clients, work with Graham!"
"Graham was an absolute pleasure to work with. Professional, easy and we never had to worry about if our wedding was being photographed in the best way possible. I would strongly recommend Graham's work to anyone for any event. Not only is he an absolute professional, the quality of his work really does stand out and speak for itself. There's no doubt that I have the best, most interesting and well-done wedding photos I have ever seen."
"My now-husband is a professional photographer, and I often serve as his second shooter for weddings and events. Before we got married, many of our friends and family asked, "Whom do two photographers hire to photograph their wedding?!?" The answer is Graham Marley. Months later, I only have to show one or two photos to absolutely floor people by the quality and vibrancy of his work. Our photos are not only stunning, they actively communicate who we are, which is one of the hardest tasks for a photographer."
"Our photos were interesting and artistic without being trendy- in other words, timeless. We have the more traditional shots to include all family members and to use as keepsakes, and we have absolutely TONS of perfectly captured moments that could have never been staged. Graham knew how to get those standard pics very quickly, and the rest of our wedding we were free to relax and let him capture all of the fun. He came up with great ideas on where to shoot all of the wedding party photos and always had everything planned out way ahead of time. Doesn't get any better than that."
